Who are we?

In January 1988, Anna Gontaszewska, alongside a group of Polish mothers and friends, set out to recreate the magic of their Polish youth for their children in Australia. Their vision was to nurture an environment where lifelong friendships could blossom—one filled with the warmth of Polish food, the melodies of scout songs, and the joy of cherished childhood games. This dream became reality with the launch of Kolonia at Wellington Mill. Over the years, the camp has welcomed generations of both Polish and non-Polish children, fostering a deep sense of community and belonging. Even Pani Anna’s own children grew up to take on leadership roles, ensuring the spirit of Kolonia lives on. As the camp continues to grow and explore new locations around the Perth region, it remains true to its roots: celebrating the beauty of Australia while lovingly remembering the heritage and traditions that brought it to life.

Kolonia Perth is an annual youth camp for children aged 7-17 years old, focused on building confident and happy campers. We provide opportunities for learning polish language and traditions, outdoor survival skills, team building games and life-long friendships.

Our camp’s objective is to provide children with a positive and nurturing environment that allows for the development of their own individual character. We want to provide campers a safe , supervised, structured environment. We have a wide variety of activities to stimulate the physical and emotional development of each child raging from: themed activities, sports, swimming, arts and crafts and much, much more!
